ACCUMULATION
Featuring Accumulation Dance with Turnpike Project, Carey Foster,
Bess Whitesel, and Zoe Dance Company

Saturday November 7th / 8th, 2008 @ 8PM
at Green Street Studios.

Accumulation Dance is a collaborative, contemporary dance ensemble established to foster and support the creation of new work among its founders, Laura Chevalier, Meghan McLyman, Margaret Pierce, Kristen Duffy Young, and other performing and visual artists. While the company will host its premier in November, the founding choreographers have presented their work as individuals throughout the Boston area, Washington, D.C., and Virginia, in such venues as Ten’s the Limit, Green Street Studios Emerging Artist and Performance Works Projects, Art Beat and Somerville Struts at the Somerville Theater, Salem State College, College of the Holy Cross, Roxbury Community College, Mass College of Art, James Madison University, The Joy of Motion (D.C.), and more. As performers, their credits include: The Caitlin Corbett Dance Company, Weber Dance, Bosoma Dance Company, Digby Dance, The Falling Flight Project, Influx Dance, Turnpike Project, The Moving Laboratory, Granite State Ballet Company (NH), Mad Shak (Chicago), Melissa Thodos and Dancers (Chicago), Motivity (Chicago), Sister’s Trousers (D.C.), Avery Ballet (D.C.), ACFDance (NYC), Dance Council Movement Theater (NYC), Orquidea Dance (NYC), and Anandance (NYC).

In this spirit of collaboration, Accumulation Dance has invited some of Boston’s renowned choreographers to share in their first concert. In 2003, Julie Pike Edmond founded the TurnPike Project, an experimental contemporary dance company, and has since shown her work in Cambridge, Newburyport, and New York City. Callie Chapman Korn’s work from Zoé Dance has been described as “forging a style that is truly integrative. Zoé Dance's intent is mostly poetic, with grand themes centered on passion, the natural world, and physical and spiritual redemption" by Theodore Bale, The Boston Herald. Carey Foster and Bess Whitesel have been feature dancers with Snappy Dance Company in addition toproducing their own work.
